have you ever finished watching a movie and wanted to talk about itwith someone? was there something about the movie that you did ordidn't like, but couldn't put your finger on it? roughly once a month,we gather as a group to hang out, watch a film and share our thoughts. think of it as a book club for moviegoers. we hope to cover a varietyof films and topics, attempting to expand our vocabulary and visualdictionary for watching films and to give us the tools to interact withwhat the filmmaker is attempting to communicate about the world. thisis a great way to spend an evening, meet new people and possibly seemovies in a new way.
Movies @ Grace is taking a break for the winter quarter in order to focus energy on the startup of our new worship location in San Jose. just because there isn't a formal film discussion doesn't mean that you should stop seeing movies with friends and talking about them: pick a Friday to watch a movie with your community group; go to a movie with friends and coworkers; watch a movie with your kids (and, the horror, talk about it afterwards!). if you have any questions on how to do this, feel free to contact Luke (luke@gracepres.com), or visit one of these great websites for recommendations and reviews--Ransom Fellowship, Looking Closer.
