our church staff

Our ministry team is dedicated to equipping the wider community at Grace to serve and glorify God. We're a close group of staff committed to excellence, service, and partnership. Feel free to approach us or any of our community leaders with questions, prayer needs, or simply to say hello.

senior pastor - Rev. Andrew Field
Our founding pastor is Andrew Field. Drew is the primary preaching pastor, guides the vision and direction for the church, and oversees worship and administration.

He and his family moved to Silicon Valley in July 2000 to help start Grace Presbyterian. Donna worked for Executive Ministries and Drew was an investment banker specializing in media and entertainment companies. In 1992, Drew left his Wall Street career to attend Westminster Theological Seminary. During that time they helped a core group form a daughter church in Westchester County, New York.

Andrew and Donna Field were a part of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan since 1990. Upon graduation from Seminary in 1995, they returned to New York City, where Drew was an Associate Pastor at Redeemer. Drew's responsibilities have included fellowship groups, worship, finances and preaching. In 1999, Drew was interim pastor at The Village Church in Greenwich Village, Manhattan.

They have four children and are active in their community. Donna helps coordinate GraceKids. In addition to his staff responsibilities, Drew coaches youth sports and sits on the board of CCEF (Christian Counseling and Education Foundation). Drew has a degree in Finance from the University of Virginia and a Masters in Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary. Little known fact: because of summer jobs, Drew was both a Teamster and a UAW union member. Favorite TV show: 24. Click for Drew's blog, Facebook, linkedIn and Twitter accounts.

worship pastor - Rev. Luke Brodine
Luke oversees the music and worship ministry, coordinates GraceLife, and takes part in general pastoral duties. He joined our staff team in June 2008.

Luke's background in music extends back to starting on piano in elementary school, trombone in jazz and marching band, and guitar with his high school youth group. Growing up near Kansas City, KS, he headed to Middle Tennessee State University to study recording studio production and technology. After marrying Sarah (in SC) and completing an internship with RUF at the University of Washington in Seattle, they spent three years in Clemson, SC, while Luke completed his Masters of Divinity at Erskine Seminary and worked as a Pastoral and Worship Intern at Clemson Presbyterian Church.

Luke's musical involvements have included: performing with and transcribing music for Indelible Grace Music; transcribing and maintaining the RUF Hymnbook; and the Irish Folk band Emerald Road, where he lent a hand on guitar, accordion, and bouzouki. He loves Jayhawk Basketball, Film Noir, African coffees, and the works of Rembrandt and Vermeer.  Typically spinning on his iPod: Fleet Foxes, Sufjan Stevens, and Irish fiddle music. Favorite TV show: Arrested Development. Click for Luke's blog, Facebook, and Twitter accounts.

young adult director & palo alto coordinator- Bob Crossland
Bob has been part of Grace since its infancy in 2001, when he was a teacher at The King's Academy in Sunnyvale. Since then he married his wife Erin and began seminary coursework at Covenant Theological Seminary in his hometown of St. Louis. Now back in the Bay Area, he runs the youth groups, preaches, mentors young adults, and is the director of our Palo Alto site as we seek to relaunch and grow into San Jose.
Bob's interests are the fine CA life, cycling, dining, wine-tasting, and fellowshiping. Favorite TV show: Gossip Girl. Check out his Facebook and Twitter accounts for more.

ministry coordinator/office coordinator - Jesse Kay Wenger
Jesse coordinates and supports operations for Sunday services and our church's ministries. During the week, she also manages the office, and on Sundays, she supervises the setup and functioning of our mobile church.
Jesse graduated in 2006 from Smith College and has an MFA in Creative Writing from San Jose State.   She's been part of Grace Church for several years, along with her parents and siblings and new husband, whose name also starts with "j".  Favorite TV show: The Office.  If you want more details, friend her on Facebook.

GraceKids worship coordinator - Donna Field
Donna has been a part of GraceKids since before the first worship service. Starting in Fall 2007, she began a new format for kids entering Grades 1-6, gathering all of the children for worship and then breaking them out into small groups for discussion and activities that bring the lesson home. Donna oversees volunteers who interact with the kids in a relational atmosphere.
Donna moved to the Bay Area with her husband Drew and four children to start Grace Church from New York City.  She's an experienced mother, executive assistant and teacher.

GraceKids jr. coordinator - Laura Herrmann
Laura is our ministry coordinator for young children. She supports the teachers, children's care assistants, encourages the families and students, and helps the youngest GraceKids thrive.
She and her husband Jay moved to the Bay Area in the summer of 2004 from Tampa , FL where they attended Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church. They had a new baby in December 2005.

campus ministry (RUF at Stanford) - Rev. David Jones
David is the Campus Minister of Reformed University Fellowship at Stanford University.
He and his wife, Mindi, moved to the Silicon Valley in the summer of 2003 from Philadelphia, PA, where David completed his Masters of Divinity at Westminster Theological Seminary. Prior to arriving in Philadelphia David served as Pastor of Youth at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, TX, which is also where David met Mindi and married her before she came to her senses. Mindi has worked as an Asset Manager with GE Capital in both Dallas and Philadelphia, but presently is helping serve Stanford students full-time and specializing in keeping David on task and making sure his clothes match.
In February of 2006, Mindi gave birth to their first child, Kylie, who is the answer to almost eight years of prayer! Mindi is originally from southern Indiana and played college softball at Oklahoma City University, while David grew up in east Tennessee and watched tons of football both before and during his days at the University of Tennessee. They enjoy live music, reading, sports, mountain biking, eating, and having people in their home.
Little known fact: David sometimes makes Mindi put on a Tennessee jersey to watch the games.
